Mumbai FC Sign A Japanese Striker

Mumbai FC have a Japanese face in their team...
After all the wrong noises in the pre-season, Mumbai FC finally seems to be getting their ship on course as they have signed a Japanese striker Kayne for the 2009-10 season.

Last season’s foreign recruits – Felix Aboagye, Abel Hammond and James Dissiramah weren’t offered a new contract this season.

Mumbai FC, who successfully came into being two years back, has been in the news for the wrong reasons especially after the high profile departures of David Booth, Henry Menezes and Arshad Hussain to Mahindra United.

Due to financial losses suffered by their parent company, Essel Group, the players weren’t paid for a considerable number of months last season which saw their performance levels dip in the second phase of the I-League.

However, the appointment of Khalid Jamil as the head coach has been the sole positive step by the club.

Meanwhile, the club was asked to pay the due amount from last season to Kalyan Chaubey by the Players Status Committee (PSC), who is involved in a transfer deadlock with the club.
