Defending I-League champions Bengaluru FC played their first match under the tutelage of Spanish gaffer Albert Roca on Saturday as they defeated local side Army Green 3-0 in a practice tie. Former India U-19 international Nishu Kumar scored a brace while skipper Sunil Chhetri also scored a goal.
The club's AFC Cup quarter-final match against Tampines Rovers is exactly a month away now and the unit has been practicing hard to become the third Indian side after East Bengal and Dempo to seal a berth in the last four of the continental competition.
