I-League: Mohun Bagan assistant coach Shankarlal Chakraborty suspended for two matches

The Green and Maroons are going through a rough patch of form and will be playing DSK Shivajians on Saturday.

The All India Football Federation's (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee has suspended Mohun Bagan assistant coach Shankarlal Chakraborty for using foul language against the match officials during the side's encounter against arch-rivals East Bengal in Siliguri. Apart from the two match suspension, he will also have to pay a fine of Rs. 50000 within seven days.

The Tata Football Acedemy (TFA) graduate was given the marching order by the referee when he protested the penalty awarded to East Bengal. That meant that the club was devoid their head coach Sanjoy Sen and assistant coach Shankarlal during the second half of the derby and also in the away match against Shillong Lajong.

Now with Sanjoy Sen returning to the reserve bench against DSK Shivajians after serving a four-match ban, the team will still be missing the assistant coach in the important tie against the Pune side.
