I-League: Bengaluru FC expected to replace Joshua Walker

The reigning Federation Cup winners would request the Indian FA to allow them to sign a replacement for the injured Walker…

Joshua Walker’s knee injury has forced Bengaluru FC to look for a replacement, Goal can confirm.

The former England Under-20 skipper sustained a knee injury during off-season and hasn’t recovered since then. According to sources close to Goal, the 26-year-old would take a minimum of five months to be fit.

It must also be noted that Bengaluru FC didn’t have Walker in their matchday squad for the opening two I-League fixtures against Salgaocar FC and Aizawl FC. However, they wouldn’t be able to bring in the new signing ahead of the first home fixture of the season against Shillong Lajong this weekend.

Walker was signed as a marquee player last season by the club for whom the English midfielder made 27 appearances.

Bengaluru FC owner Parth Jindal took to Twitter earlier this month to confirm the injury sustained by Walker.
