Shillong Lajong have added Brazilian striker Fabio Pena Henrique and Japanese defender Yusuke Yamagata on their roster for the 2015-16 edition of the I-League.
The 25-year-old striker has plied his trade in Japanese second division for five seasons for Roasso Kumamoto.
29-year-old Yamagata last plied his trade for Lane Xang Intra in Laos and is versatile to also feature as a left-back or a defensive midfielder.
Coach Thangboi Singto said, “Fabio will give us more height and prowess upfront and his strong work ethics will help the team defensively too. Though we are yet to see both Uilliams and Fabio pair in an I-League match, they have been looking good together in training. Both being Brazilians should help them and the team.”
“Yusuke has had an experience in playing in Cambodia and Laos after leaving Japan. So we expect his experience and leadership to make our defence much stronger.”
