Mohun Bagan have agreed a deal with midfielder Lenny Rodrigues to add him to their squad for the I-League 2015-16 season, Goal can confirm.
Rodrigues is all set to sign on the dotted line on Thursday, which would see him play for the Mariners next season.
The 28-year-old was roped in by FC Pune City in the inaugural season of the Indian Super League (ISL). After the ISL season ended, Dempo SC acquired the player on-loan for the recently concluded 2014/15 I-League campaign wherein the Goan club got relegated to the second division.
With 22 caps for India, Lenny was dropped from the national squad for games against Oman and Guam.
"The talks are still going on. Hopefully, I will sign there (Bagan). My agent is doing everything," the former Churchill Brothers SC player told Goal.
With FC Pune City having retained the player, Lenny will be on loan at Mohun Bagan from the Pune club after the second season of the ISL ends.
"There is an offer [from Mohun Bagan], but he has not signed till now. Lenny has agreed more or less and will sign soon. He had some interesting offers, but this was his first choice as they (Bagan) are champions and will also play in the AFC Cup," revealed the player's agent.
This is the second player from Dempo that Mohun Bagan have added after agreeing a deal with Prabir Das a few days earlier.
