CONFIRMED: Morgan to join Dempo SC

The Kerala Blasters’ assistant coach shall take charge of the side following the game against Mohun Bagan on Wednesday…

Dempo SC have already chosen their successor to Arthur Papas as they are expected to announce Trevor James Morgan as their new head coach for the remainder of the 2014-15 season.

This was after Dempo SC have endured a poor start to their I-League campaign under Papas’ tutelage as they lie eighth on the table and have an average lower than a goal scored per game. They suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat to East Bengal last weekend wherein fans of the Goan side protested and asked for Papas to quit the club.

On Monday evening, Dempo SC confirmed that they had parted ways with the Australian coach who failed to win a single trophy with the club after having replaced the highly successful Armando Colaco.

Questioned if he would take charge of Dempo SC after the tie against Mohun Bagan, Trevor Morgan replied in the affirmative and told Goal, “Yes, that’s true. I will be arriving in Goa over the weekend.”

He, alongside David James helped Kerala Blasters make it into the finals of the inaugural edition of the Indian Super League (ISL).
