Bengaluru FC kick started their China tour on a positive note as they defeated Guangdong Sunray Cave FC 1-0 in a friendly match on Wednesday.

Sunray Cave F.C. currently ply their trade in the China League One division, which is the second tier of Chinese football.

The defending I-League champions are currently deprived of the services of captain Sunil Chhetri and star striker Robin Singh as both are part of Indian squad for the twin friendlies against Palestine.

In their absence, Udanta Singh, the promising Tata Football Academy (TFA) graduate earned a place in the starting XI for The Blues while Joshua Walker, the marquee signing of the outfit also played a part in the club’s first ever match on foreign soil.

However, it was midfielder Malemnganba Meitei, who came on as a substitute and scored the all-important goal in the 87th minute to hand the club a morale-boosting win.

This was also the first time the side played in the slick away jersey made by their kit sponsors Puma.
