Salgaocar FC, who have been holding intensive trials over the past month, in order to complete their foreign quota for next season, have added Japanese midfielder Seiji Saito to their squad.
Goal had earlier revealed that the club is close to agreeing a deal for signing the Japanese national to their squad.
The Green and Whites, on Tuesday, have welcomed Saito into their fold by posting a message on their official Facebook page.
"We introduce to you Salgaocar Football Club's new signing, Japanese midfielder Seiji Saito. The 27-year-old last turned out for Korona Kielce, a top tier Polish side. The Japanese has also plied his trade in Portugal and Brazil including the Sao Paulo ‘B’ side, apart from representing Kashiwa Reysol and Kawasaki Frontale in his homeland," read the release.
Salgaocar FC’s General Secretary, Raj Gomes said, "Saito has been with us a couple of days. His positive attitude, will to play for Salgaocar and experience for the last ten years will hold him in good stead. We hope he takes this opportunity to prove his talent and we wish him all the best."
Seiji Saito stated that he was very happy and is looking forward to this exciting challenge with Salgaocar FC. "I will do my best and contribute towards the club having a good season," he was quoted after signing on the dotted line for Salgaocar FC.
Chika Wali had already followed Derrick Pereira to Salgaocar from Pune FC, and with the deal for the Japanese midfielder completed, the Goan club are left with only two of their foreign slots to fill.
The deal was done by Libero Sports.
