Dempo rope in Pailan's Prathamesh - report

The Pailan Arrows youngster will join the reigning I-League champions for the remainder of the season as the Goans look to strengthen their backline.....
In what will be a shot in the arm for Pailan Arrows youngster Prathamesh Maulingkar, Dempo SC have brought the 21-year old to Goa in a bid to sort out the defensive woes that have plagued the team lately. Prathamesh will be with the reigning I-League champions for the remainder of the season.

Dempo were short on numbers at the back which prompted coach Armando Colaco to make a move for Prathamesh. "We have asked the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to release him and they have given us the green signal. He will be our player for the ongoing I-League matches," said Colaco to Herald Goa. Prathamesh is in line for a start as Colaco's side will face United Sikkim at the Duler Stadium on Saturday.

Dempo's experienced centre-half Mahesh Gawli was injured during the last game against Shillong Lajong FC and is nursing a lower limb injury. The former India international is currently undergoing treatment in Mumbai.

It must be noted that Prathamesh was amongst the players who were fines by Pailan Arrows for being indisciplined by repeatedly turning up late for training session and being out of the team hostel until the wee hours of the morning. Prathamesh, who was a regular starter for Pailan Arrows for the last two seasons and was billed as one of the top defenders for the future, has been struggling to get game time under Arthur Papas.

A move to Dempo shall surely help him revive his career under the able guidance of Armando Colaco and in an competetive environment with an aim to retain their I-League title as opposed to a side who are immune from relegation.
