I-League: Three Points Is All We Need - Clifford Chukuwama

It’s too crowded at the top and Sporting Clube Goa coach Clifford Chukuwama once again reiterated that it’s good for the league.
Churchill Brothers won their match against JCT and are now just a point behind league leaders Sporting Clube De Goa. Zoran Djordjevic’s side have replaced Mohun Bagan at the second spot on superior goal difference.

But Clifford Chukuwama isn’t too worried about all that’s happening around him and feels that winning the title is in their hands though it’s too early to make such a statement.

“It’s interesting that Churchill won today. The league is getting very interesting now and that’s the way it should be.

“I am concerned about the three points we need to get in every match. Every point is very important from hereon.”

The league leaders face Chirag United tomorrow and shall hope to increase the gap at the top which shall give them some breathing space.

“Chirag United have a fighting spirit about them. But in their last two visits to Goa, they have not won and I hope that works against them.

“We have the home advantage which we must the most of.”

It’s not all well for Sporting as they will be without the services of striker Junior Elijah while the good news is that defenders Samanada Singh and Luciano Sobrosa are available for selection.

“In the last two matches, we have played with two foreign players and tomorrow as well, it will be the same story. I hope in future, we have all the three available for us.”
