‘We don’t want to sell Wendell’ – Voller fires warning to PSG

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has told Paris Saint-Germain to expect a fight if they wish to buy Wendell from the Bundesliga side.

A report in L’Equipe linked the Ligue 1 champions to the 24-year-old, who played 26 times in the league last season for Bayer, scoring a couple of goals in the process.

Thomas Tuchel, the new PSG boss, believes that he could be the answer to the club’s problem area at left-back.

Voller, though, has said that his side will not easily be parted with the Brazilian.

“We don’t want to sell Wendell,” he told Bild . “And there have been no official offers.

“We’re relaxed. There will be rumours regarding our players over the next few weeks, over and over again. But I’d worry if that wasn’t the case.

“Playing in three competitions next season, we need our best players here.”

The German club would seek to recoup more than the record €30 million (£22m/$35m) they received from Tottenham when they sold Son Heung-Min to them in 2015.

Meanwhile, the entourage of the player denies that there is currently any prospect of a deal being done.

“I’ve not heard from PSG,” he claimed from Brazil, where he is expected to holiday for another month before returning to Germany.
