US-based Joseph Okumu called to Kenya's Emerging Stars squad

US-based Joseph Okumu is among the 54 players called up to the National U23 football team, the Emerging Stars for the two boot camps lined as part of Kenya’s preparation for the Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

The Real Monarchs (USA) star has been teased to audition for a place in the national team as football Kenya Federation prepares to conduct two sessions for the Rising Stars.

The first session, slated for November 3, and November 4, 2018, with the second assembly due between November 6 and 7, 2018 after which a 25-man squad, set to hit camp on November 8, 2018, will be named.

Kenya will host Mauritius in the first round of the qualifiers on November 16, 2018, with the second leg set to be played three days later.

The aggregate winner will face off with either of Seychelles or Sudan in the second round.

The final tournament, set to be held in Egypt in between November 8, and November 22, 2019, will act as the 2022 Olympics Qualifiers.
