Ulinzi Stars are targeting to recruit three forwards during the one-day trial set to be held at the Afraha Stadium on Monday.

The Soldiers have had a poor run of form that saw them go for four matches without a single victory.

Ulinzi’s striking problem was imminent in the 0-0 draw against visiting Bandari and coach Dunstan Nyaudo is looking forward to beefing up the squad with fresh talents to be scouting the open trials.

Nyaudo is looking to pick at least two midfielders and a striker and the exercise will be open for all players in the targeted positions.

The new recruits, according to the club website, must be under 22 years of age or below. The players will be subjected to two sessions on the day, in the morning and afternoon.

“I am targeting three offensive players. Midfielders and strikers are encouraged to come and try out. What we are looking at in this window, is getting players for the second leg, and also to get some for the future because we will have a very short period of rest before next season so we have to plan well now.

Apart from the players who stand a chance to be picked from the one day trial, Nyaudo is also expected to add a few players from within the military, as well as a few civilians in a bid to boost the team after a fairly good run in the first leg.

So far, three players from within the Military defender Geoffrey Kokoyo, midfielder Omar Boraafya and striker Mark Bikokwa hav ebeen drafted in the squad.
