This weekend the eyes of the watching world will all be focused firmly on the Spanish capital as El Clásico returns.
Saturday’s clash sees Madrid out to cut down the nine-point difference between themselves and Barca at the top of LaLiga in what promises to be another fierce contest between the Spanish giants.
And while the two teams may not agree on much when they meet at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday, there is one thing that doesn’t divide two former legends of the respective clubs – there is nothing else like it!
Steve McManaman and Carles Puyol – LaLiga Big Matchups
El Clásico is almost here 🤩 And nothing compares, insist these legends 🗣️ #BeYourOwnChampionPosted by Goal.com on Friday, March 1, 2019
Puyol agrees: “That match was crazy,” he said.
“The best one for me was when we won 6-2 at the Bernabéu. I also scored and I didn’t get many goals, so that’s a day I’ll never forget.”
Few predict anything like that this time, but the two multiple LaLiga winners are certainly expecting goals.
“I think whenever Real Madrid and Barcelona play, it’s just attack, attack and attack,” said McManaman.
“I think that’s why the game is so big across the world, because everybody knows it’s going to be exciting.”
