Swansea City hope to conclude Andre Ayew deal

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed the club’s hopes of completing a deal for Andre Ayew from West Ham United.

The South Wales outfit, also targeting a move [loan] for Leicester City midfielder Andy King, are keen to wrap up the protracted deal for the Ghana international before Wednesday night’s transfer deadline.

Jenkins revealed that they need to get the ‘green light’ from the Hammers to ensure the versatile attacker return to the Liberty Stadium outfit.

"The deal with Andre we’re trying to conclude that today as quickly as we can and Andy King coming on loan from Leicester trying to finish off in next hour to two," Jenkins said on Sky Sports News.

"We’re quietly confident. It was important we got them done, in particular, Andre because we’ve been working on that for quite a while. We’ve been waiting on West Ham to give us the green light to complete that deal and we’re waiting to get the paperwork all signed off.

"Andy is different, he’s someone to come in and boost the squad which he’s keen to do that and most importantly Carlos was keen to get those positions filled for us to have a good healthy squad between now and the end of the season.

"Hopefully with Andre and Andy we can get everything completed tonight.

"We don't see it as a gamble. It's a big fee for us as a club, transfer values have changed over the last couple of years and things have risen considerably, but we feel it's a good deal for us as a club with a big challenge ahead to make sure we finish well between now and the end of the season.

"We're all looking forward to Andre being reunited with his brother [Jordan] and forging a great partnership for us."
