Matsatsantsa have been dealt a further blow with news that Mnyamane and Mokoena will miss the encounter in Lubumbashi

SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler has opened up about his side’s injury woes ahead of their first leg Caf Confederation Cup final encounter against TP Mazembe on Sunday afternoon.

The Matsatsantsa coach left South Africa with only 17 players at his disposal following news that Thabo Mnyamane and youngster Teboho Mokoena would join the suspended duo of Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Morgan Gould on the sidelines due to injury.

Mnyamane has been struggling with injury of late, and according to the 47-year-old while he is on the road to recovery, he will miss both legs.

"On Thabo Mnyamane, the report we got this week was very positive. He should be back within a couple of weeks I would presume, but he won’t make the second leg of the Caf final,” Tinkler was quoted by Sport24 as saying.

However, Tinkler was a little more optimistic that Mokoena would be fit enough for the return leg in Tshwane.

“With Mokoena, we’re hopeful that he has a chance of making it,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tinkler lamented the absence of the quartet for the first leg in Lubumbashi.

“You want what is your strongest team available. Morgan has been very important and influential for us, and has been performing exceptionally well in my opinion, and so has Yeye,” he lamented.

“They’ve been involved in practically all the games and missing them is obviously a loss. Mokoena too, he’s also been very good for us,” he concluded.
