The South African Football Association (Safa) has finally found a new coach to replace Shakes Mashaba as head coach of Bafana Bafana.

According to Safa's head of communications Dominic Chimhavi, the deal has been concluded and the official announcement will be made any time from now.

Stuart Baxter is expected to be announced as Mashaba's successor, having already agreed terms with the country's FA over the vacant position.

"We've finalised everything and pen has been put to paper. The announcement could be tomorrow or any time from now. It's just a matter of calling you guys [the media] to the official announcement," Chimhavi told Sowetan.

Baxter's current employers, SuperSport United, had given Safa until Friday to finalise the deal.

Reports suggest that Matsatsantsa have already identified Ruud Krol as Baxter's possible replacement, but the former Orlando Pirates would only be in charge of the team at the start of next season after the club made it clear that they will hold on to their head coach for the remainder of the current campaign.
