Stoke City’s Ramadan Sobhi 'close to Premier League stay'

Ramadan Sobhi's agent, Nader Shawky, has said that the player 'is close to staying in the Premier League'

Last season, Stoke City were relegated to the English Championship, and the Egypt international, who scored twice in 24 league appearances for the Potters in the underwhelming campaign, has offers from top-flight clubs pouring in.

The youngster joined the bet365 Stadium outfit in 2016 from Egyptian side Al Ahly for a fee of £5 million and put pen to paper on a new five-year contract before the start of the 2017-18 season.

However, according to Kingfut, Shawky has affirmed solid interests for Sobhi from Premier League sides but also disclosed that the winger is also open to moving to Spain, Italy or Germany while ruling out a switch on loan to the Swiss or Turkish leagues.

“Ramadan is close to staying in the Premier League and there are offers to the player from league clubs,” Shawky said.

”In case he didn’t stay in England, the player will move to another club in Spain, Italy or Germany but it won’t be possible for him to move to the Swiss or Turkish league on loan.”

Shawky also revealed that the attacker could return to his former club Al Ahly provided he gets an assurance of regular playing time.

“He will return to Al Ahly only if he feels that he will receive game time to regain his confidence,” he continued.

“He is still young and is still learning but the fans are rushing and should be patient.”
