Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic was happy to see Bernard Morrison score twice against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday night.

The Ghanaian forward's brace inspired the Buccaneers to a 2-0 win over Ajax in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 match at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

Bucs, who have won the Nedbank Cup eight times, advanced to the Last 16, while Ajax were eliminated from the lucrative tournament.

“Bernard Morrison stood aside mostly because of injuries. He was prepared for this match properly," Sredojevic told SuperSport TV.

"It’s not easy to make six changes and still keep the consistency in the team but the risk has paid us back. There are competition for places and that will rise the quality and make us better and better," he added.

The Serbian trainer stated that his charges were able to implement their game plan against Urban Warriors, who were outplayed the Soweto giants.

“In football whoever is promising is not serious because in football you cannot promise anything. All that we can promise is hard work use the talent of our players, get the performance, get the results and go through,” he said.

“I want to give credit to the players because they did abide to each instruction because in attack we insisted on possession because we knew in one moment the opposition will crack. We used that moment in the first half," he continued.

“In the second half we knew they had to come out in the right moment we scored the second goal, when the opponent came out we were supposed to score more goals," Micho added.

"I’m very happy that we passed through. Ajax don’t give up easy but I’m happy that we won," he concluded.

Pirates' next game is against Chippa United, who defeated ABC Motsepe side Phiva Young Stars 2-0 in the Last 32 match at the Kabokweni Stadium on Saturday.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) game between Bucs and the Chilli Boys will be played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday, the 25th of February 2018.
