Samuel Kalu missing as Super Eagles begin South Africa preparation

Only Samuel Kalu is yet to arrive Nigeria camp in Asaba with 22 other Super Eagles on ground to kick off preparation ahead of Saturday's 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying clash against South Africa.

The Bordeaux winger was the only absentee as Gernot Rohr's men, including captain Ahmed Musa, Enyimba goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, trained at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on Tuesday.

Nigeria, top of Group E standings with nine points from four games, are out to avenge their first-leg loss to Stuart Baxter's men, trailing by two points in second place, at the FNB Stadium.

A win for Rohr's side will ensure a return to the Afcon finals since 2013, and a remarkable turnaround in the qualifying campaign, which started with a disappointing home loss to Bafana Bafana in Uyo last year.

The 2013 Afcon winner then return to Asaba to take on Uganda in a friendly on November 20
