Ronaldo tells Rashford to 'keep up the good work' with gift for Man Utd star

Marcus Rashford is attracting all sorts of plaudits and praise for his Manchester United and England form, but the winger will be paying special attention to the latest message of encouragement, sent to him by Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 20-year-old has been an important player for Jose Mourinho's side again this term, playing 47 games in all competitions and scoring 12 goals, and could be key for his country at the World Cup in Russia this summer.

Rashford was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award for his exploits for the Red Devils, but lost out to Manchester City rival Leroy Sane.

However, he will not be too downhearted despite missing out, as Cristiano Ronaldo has a nice gift for him.

The former United star has signed a Real Madrid shirt for the Englishman, writing "To Marcus, keep up the good work" on it.

Rashford posted an image of Ronaldo holding the shirt up on Twitter, with the caption: "Thanks boss".

Jose Mourinho's men host Arsenal at Old Trafford in Sunday's Premier League game, looking to boost their hopes of finishing second to Man City.
