SuperSport United attacker Mxolisi Macuphu has reportedly walked away relatively unscathed after being allegedly involved in a scary motor vehicle accident over the weekend.
According to reports in the Daily Sun, the 29-year-old who is on-loan at Matsatsantsa from Bidvest Wits, was reportedly on his way to Vosloorus and he allegedly collided with a vehicle parked in the yellow lane.
In the car was both a friend and Macuphu’s girlfriend.
“I was with my friend and my girlfriend,” Macuphu was quoted as saying by the Daily Sun.
“We can’t talk right now. Please can you call me tomorrow morning,” he concluded.
Furthermore, the publication reveals that three men were rushed to the Thelle Mogorene Hospital in Vosloorus.
Nonetheless, reports doing the rounds suggest that Macuphu has been discharged from hospital and has avoided any serious injury.
This is the latest accident to occur involving a Premier Soccer League (PSL) footballer.
South African football has in recent times been rocked by several prominent footballers including Lebogang Manyama and Wiseman Meyiwa surviving serious car accidents.
Meyiwa, in particular, was sadly forced to call time on his career due to the extent of the injuries sustained.
