Mustafic stepped up in what was a crucial moment for his team amidst the partisan crowd at the old National Stadium at Kallang. Thousands of Singaporean fans eagerly waited with bated breath to see the outcome. The pressure was immense yet Mustafic made no mistake as his penalty was perfectly placed.
That moment allowed Singapore to take a 2-1 lead to Thailand where the Lions secured a 1-1 draw to be crowned 2007 AFF Suzuki Cup champions.
