The hosts are flying domestically and we think they can take that form into the Champions League on Wednesday evening against the Italian side

Having been soundly beaten in Barcelona in their opening match, Dutch champions PSV know they must get something from their first home game of the competition on Wednesday night.

The Eindhoven outfit have made a stunning start domestically with seven Eredivisie wins so far this season, scoring 26 goals and conceding just three.

Inter, however, have also begun to impress in their domestic division after a slow start, and their victory on matchday one against Spurs has been followed by three successive Serie A wins.

Latest odds

The Italian side are slight favourites in William Hill's market offered at 29/20 (2.45) while PSV can be backed at 7/4 (2.75) and the draw is available 5/2 (3.50).

Team news

Inter trio Mauro Icardi, Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic all started on the bench for the weekend win over Cagliari, but all three should could back into the starting eleven on Wednesday night.

PSV coach Mark van Bommel fielded his strongest eleven at the weekend and is likely to do so once more against Inter.

Preview

PSV are unbeaten in any competitive game in their own stadium since July 2017 and while the calibre of opponent has not been exceptionally high during that run, Van Bommel's men look dangerous when stepping out at the Philips Stadium.

The Dutch side lost two of their three home group games the last time they were in the competition in 2016, but by the finest of margins, 1-0 to Atletico Madrid and 2-1 to Bayern Munich.

Those are the only two defeats in their last eight home matches in the competition and with the side flying and scoring goals, they should be able to cause Inter some problems in the Italians' first Champions League away match for seven years.

Tips and predictions

The hosts are priced at evens (2.00) in the Draw No Bet market and that is worthy of consideration, given the Dutch side's form and relatively strong home form in Europe.
