Perak captain Shahrom Kalam has credited his teammates' commitment for their success in defeating defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim FC (JDT) 2-1, in their Super League (MSL) match on Saturday.

The centre back was also pleased that the Bos Gaurus' defence was successful in keeping out the Southern Tigers' attacks

"All the guys gave their fullest commitment, and that's the reason we won.

"We (the defence) focused really hard in the game, as we've conceded numerous times previously and have had to improve. Thank God today we were more disciplined, and we will do even better in future matches," explained the Malaysia international to reporters after the match.

Shahrom also explained that due to the yellow card he received in the clash, he will be suspended for Perak's next match, a league encounter against Felda United FC.

However the 31-year old is not bothered about having to miss the match, as he believes that his side's backup players will be up to the task.

"We have no troubles in that department, as our backup players are equally reliable, such as Idris Ahmad.

"I'll be suspended for the next match for having picked up three yellow cards, but I trust my replacement (will do a good job) when Thiago (centre back Thiago Junior Aquino) or I are absent," said the skipper.
