Paul-Jose Mpoku seals Standard Liege's win over Kortrijk

The Congolese attacker wrapped up the Reds win with a second-half effort from the spot

Paul-Jose Mpoku was on target as Standard Liege secured a 2-0 win over Kortrijk in their Belgian top-flight outing on Sunday.

The 26-year-old doubled the lead for Michel Preud'homme's team from the penalty spot in the 76th minute after Maxime Lestienne's opener in the first minute of the encounter.

Mpoku increased his tally to three in 11 league matches as Standard Liege moved to the seventh place in the Belgian First Division A table with 23 points from 15 games.

He was in action for 83 minutes while Nigeria's Uche Agbo was introduced as a 46th substitute.

Abdul Ajagun was an unused substitute and Imoh Ezekiel was introduced in the 85th minute for Kortrijk.

The Reds welcome Eupen to the Stade Maurice Dufrasne for their next game on November 24.
