Orlando Pirates legend Lekgwathi urges Borussia Dortmund target Foster to remain grounded

Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi has urged teenage starlet Lyle Foster to stay focused.

The promising striker, who is highly-rated by Bucs head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic, was promoted to the club's first team last month

“I am happy for him and all I wish is for him to listen," Lekgwathi was quoted as saying on The Citizen.

"I want him to listen to the senior players and take all the advice he gets from them," he added.

"I wish he just stays focused and listens to everyone around him so that he could reach the top, he has been doing well,” Lekgwathi continued.

The 41-year-old, who was on the books of Pirates between 2002 and 2016, also called on Bucs senior players to guide the young players at the Houghton-based club.

“The senior players that have been at Pirates for a while like Thabo (Rakhale) need to play the role we played when Jali came into the team as a youngster," he explained.

"We helped him get used to playing for Pirates. They need guidance and that is the role of a senior players. We helped Jali and the others to understand what it means to play for Pirates," he added.

"So, the new players in the team need that as well," Lekgwathi concluded.

Foster, who has made three PSL appearances this season, is reportedly on the radar of German clubs Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen.
