Tusker FC new coach Sam Timbe is optimistic his team will perform exceptionally well this season after a shaky 2017.

The former Sofapaka tactician took over from fellow countryman George Nsimbe to help return the team to the top of Kenyan football.

Despite making it clear that it is going to be challenging, the veteran coach admits the quality in the team is good.

"So far, the new signings are doing well, they have impressed me in training but every player has to show what he has. We have to build a stronger team that can with stand the storm and sail through to victory.

"Our main aim is to win the league this season, but it is not going to be a walk in the park. We are aware that several teams are in it, but I believe the most consistent team will carry the day," Timbe told Goal.

Timbe will be a third tactician from Uganda after Paul Nkata and Nsimbe to lead the Ruaraka based side in the last three seasons.
