21:57 - FEATURE: Can Messi save Sampaoli's Argentina?

Argentina missed Lionel Messi against Italy this evening, but can even the diminutive magician save Sampaoli's Argentina?

Our correspondent Sam Lee reports LIVE from the Etihad.

21:55 - FULL TIME

What a treat that was!

France looked to be cruising after Olivier Giroud and Thomas Lemar gave the hosts a two-goal lead but Luis Muriel hit back almost immediately with a bizarre goal.

Colombia then came out for the second half with all guns blazing and turned the game on it's head, with Radamel Falcao netting an equaliser before Quintero tucked home the winner from the penalty spot.

France 2-3 Colombia

21:50 - STAT TIME ⏰

Italy have failed to score for 3 games in a row for the first time since June 2012 ❌

Germany are now unbeaten in 22 games (W16 D6); their second longest unbeaten run ever (23 games between October 1978 and December 1980) 💪

Jamie Vardy did not manage a single touch during his 22 minutes on the pitch in England's 1-0 win over the Netherlands 👻

21:48 - GOAL!!! ⚽

The turnaround is complete in Paris as Quintero steps up and fires past Lloris, who stood no chance as it was tucked right into the corner.

A shambles from the home side, who were strolling in the opening 25 minutes!

France 2-3 Colombia

21:47 - Full time round up! 📯

Argentina 2-0 Italy

Austria 3-0 Slovenia

Germany 1-1 Spain

Netherlands 0-1 England

Poland 0-1 Nigeria

21:33 - OLE, OLE, OLE 🗣️

England are enjoying a spell in possession at Amsterdam Arena and their supporters are letting the home fans know about it.

Gareth Southgate's men are in no rush now as they look to see out the last three minutes!

21:28 - GOAL!!! ⚽

No Messi, no problem...

Lanzini with the second! The West Ham man surely caps off an Argentina win with his first senior goal for the national side, wrong-footing two defenders and burying his shot into the top left corner from the edge of the box.

Argentina 2-0 Italy

21:25 - GOAL!!! ⚽

Colombia get their equaliser and France pay for their sloppiness since the restart!

The visitors pick up the ball and quickly hit on the counter, with the stellar combination of James and Falcao combining once again.

The former tucks it across goal to the striker, who scores his 29th goal for his nation and extends his lead as Colombia's all-time top-scorer.

France 2-2 Colombia

21:21 - A moment to remember for Lingard 🦁

EMBED ONLY Jesse Lingard England

21:18 - GOAL!!! ⚽

You can follow it live here.

Poland 0-1 Nigeria

21:07 - Ronaldo 0-1 Salah

It's that man on the scoresheet once again, Mo Salah!

El Said did well down the left-wing, he pulled the ball back to Salah who was on the edge of the area. The Liverpool winger then just placed his effort perfectly in the bottom left-hand corner of the net, to give the Egyptians the lead.

Portugal 0-1 Egypt

21:06 - GOAL!!! ⚽

Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has scored his first England goal!

He latches on to Rose's deflected cross after initially playing the full-back into space down the left flank. He held his composure to curl his effort into the bottom corner, beating a weak hand from Zoet, who should have kept it out.

Netherlands 0-1 England 🦁🦁🦁

21:05 - Over and out from McTominay

Scott McTominay's debut comes to an end as he's replaced by Stuart Armstrong in the first of a possible six changes for Scotland.

21:03 - SAVE! 👐

Superb football from Spain again!

They carve Germany open, but a fantastic close-range stop from ter Stegen denies Isco what looked like a certain goal!

It remains 1-1.

20:58 - Penalty shout for England 📢

Marcus Rashford is taken out by Matthijs de Ligt inside the Netherlands' penalty box but is denied a spot-kick by the referee, who waves play on.

Harsh on the Three Lions forward!

20:55 - CHANCE!

David Silva's attempt to pick out a Spain team-mate from the left is cut out, and Germany break quickly through Werner again, who finds Ozil on the edge of the box.

The playmaker can't connect with his shot, though, and it rolls harmlessly through to ter Stegen.

We play on!

20:50 - And we're back!

The 19:45 games are back underway...

20:45 - CHANCE!

Another swift attacking move from France, as Mbappe finds space and then pokes a ball through to Griezmann.

Germany 1-1 Spain

Netherlands 0-0 England

Poland 0-0 Nigeria

Portugal 0-0 Egypt

Scotland 0-1 Costa Rica

20:32 - GOAL!!! ⚽

Colombia pull one back 👍

Where did that come from?! It's a moment for Lloris to forget as Muriel curls a cross towards Davinson Sanchez in the six-yard box but the Spurs man doesn't get a touch.

He doesn't need to though as it bounces past his club colleague, putting Colombia back in the game.

France 2-1 Colombia

20:30 - GOAL!!! ⚽

France double their lead against Colombia 🇫🇷

A superb attacking move! It's pinged around the final third with Sidibe playing Griezmann through, who then backheels the ball to Mbappe. The PSG ace then tees it across for Lemar, who fires into the far corner to double France's lead.

France 2-0 Colombia

20:23 - GOAL!!! ⚽

What a strike!

20:20 - Buffon sends a message to Argentina

Gigi Buffon Italy vs Argentina

On your bikes, lads.

20:17 - GOAL!!! ⚽

Giroud gives France a deserved lead!

It's a gift from former Arsenal colleague Ospina as he fumbles Digne's driven cross to the feet of the striker, who makes no mistake with his finish and smashes home to net his 30th goal for his nation.

France 1-0 Colombia 😎

20:13 - CHANCE!

But it was offside 🚩

Germany's Timo Werner gets his first real chance of the game as he races onto a through-ball in behind the defence, and tries to place a left-footed effort inside the far post, but it spins just wide!

It wouldn't have counted anyway...

20:08 - GOAL!!! ⚽

And unfortunately for Scotland, it's gone against them.

Marco Urena opens the scoring for Costa Rica at Hampden Park!

You can follow the game here.

20:05 - Much Ado About Nothing for England

After all the build up around the Netherlands vs England game, the opening 20 minutes has left a lot to be desired.

Jesse Lingard has had the best chance of the game, though his scuffed effort just about sums up the game so far...

😫

19:59 - CHANCE!

Germany defender Hector takes aim from 25-yards but his volley is narrowly wide.

David De Gea would have had no chance, had the strike been on target there.

19:55 - GOAL!!! ⚽

Spain take the lead against Germany!

Moments after Mesut Ozil threatened to open the scoring for Germany, Rodrigo lashes a left-footed shot past the advancing ter Stegen and into the back of the net!

Germany 0-1 Spain

19:47 - STAT TIME ⏰

England have lost only one of their seven away games versus Netherlands, winning two and drawing four.

That defeat came in a World Cup qualifier under Graham Taylor in October 1993 (0-2), with Ronald Koeman scoring the Dutch’s opening goal via a direct free-kick.

19:45 - HERE WE GO!

We are now underway across the games, who will be the first to break the 19:45 deadlock?

19:40 - STAT TIME ⏰

The last three games played between Germany and Spain have ended 1-0, with Spain winning twice and Germany triumphing once.

Iniesta's extra-time strike to send Spain into the 2010 World Cup final decided the most memorable of those encounters.

GOOOOOAAAAAAALLL! The floodgates have opened! ⚽⚽⚽

17:14 - 🇷🇺 Russia 0-1 Brazil 🇧🇷

GOOOOOOOAAALLL!!! ⚽

Brazil haven't wasted any time and they've gone ahead just seconds after Akinfeev's amazing save.

Miranda got the final touch after Thiago Silva's initial header was denied.

17:08 - 🇷🇺 Russia 0-0 Brazil 🇧🇷

The second half has kicked off in Moscow!

And already there has been a chance.

From our commentary: "HOW HAS THAT STAYED OUT?! Vintage Brazil as they carve Russia apart on the break!

Later on this evening France will be in action against Colombia.

The bigger teams are all set for later kick-offs, but there is no shortage of matches.

You can keep an eye on them all here.

16:17 - 🇷🇺 Russia 0-0 Brazil 🇧🇷

Phew! Man City and Brazil fans breath a sigh of relief after Jesus went down with what looked to be an ankle injury.

But he's back up again now and back in the game. The striker's just after returning from injury, so another three months out from the World Cup would have been cruel.

16:11 - 🇷🇺 Russia 0-0 Brazil 🇧🇷

Some early goal-mouth action already as Gabriel Jesus tests Igor Akinfeev after beating the off-side trap.

The Man City striker was found by Dani Alves with a long-ball over the top, but Akinfeev was equal to the challenge.

15:48 - 🇦🇷 Argentina vs Italy 🇮🇹

Lionel Messi and Argentina come up against Italy in Manchester later this evening in what promises to be an exciting game.

The Barcelona star single-handedly dragged his country to the World Cup while Italy fell at the final hurdle in the play-offs.

That virtuoso display further cemented his legacy as one of Argentina's all time greats, but Gabriel Batistuta stll thinks lags behind Diego Maradona.

What do you think? 🤔

15:39 - 🇳🇱 Netherlands vs England 🦁

England fans will be tuning in later on as the Three Lions take on Ronald Koeman's England.

We will have team news for you shortly.

In the meantime, why not soak up some of the atmosphere from inside the stadium.

15:10 - 🇷🇺 Russia vs Brazil 🇧🇷

No Neymar, no problem!

Brazil head to Russia without their star player after the Paris Saint-Germain suffered a foot injury while playing for his club. However, head coach Tite can call upon a wealth of talent besides.

The likes of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Douglas Costa all provide a serious threat going forward, while Thiago Silva and Dani Alves boast plenty of experience.

Of course, the game is being played in the Luzhniki Stadium, which is where the World Cup final will be held, so Brazil will be hoping to give themselves a good omen with a win.
