Mikel aims jibe at Ighalo ahead of Chinese Super League face-off

The former Chelsea star made fun of his previous meeting with his compatriot before they go head-to-head at the Development Area Stadium on Saturday

Tianjin Teda captain John Obi Mikel has thrown a jibe at Changchun Yatai forward Odion Ighalo ahead of their Chinese Super League clash.

The tie will unite both Super Eagles stars who once confronted each other in the English Premier League, with Mikel donning the colours of Chelsea while Ighalo spearheaded Watford's attack.

Mikel who has featured in every of the Tianjin Tigers' matches this campaign, dropped a message for Ighalo who has so far gotten seven goals from nine league appearances this campaign.

"You won't get this close to me at the weekend Odion Ighalo,” Mikel tweeted.

The former Granada star then responded to Mikel's tweet, hoping to have the last laugh in Changchun on Saturday.
