Matano suffer heavy defeat as Wazito go top

Wazito FC continued to impress in National Super League, after convincingly beating Nairobi City Stars 3-1 on Sunday.

The visitors had won their opener against FC Talanta the previous week by a solitary goal, but this time they had to get past an experienced side led by veteran coach Robert Matano.

After a good display by both sides, it was Wazito, who capitalized on defensive blunders by their opponents and scored first through year old Piston Mutamba, with the second one coming from the spot courtesy of defender Austine Ochieng.

The visitors scored all their goals in the first half through Salim Akatha, Hasan Juma, Wilson Andati and Dominic Gwaro. The hosts got what turned out to be a consolation in the second half through an Elisha Ochieng, penalty.

At Kisumu, hosts Palos were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Modern Coast Rangers. The hosts scored their goals through Kelvin Wesonga and Marvin Otinya, with their opponents getting their goals through Alfred Maningi.
