Macdonald Mariga has challenged Harambee Stars to get a positive result away to Sierra Leone on Saturday.
Kenya will launch their campaign for the Afcon ticket in Freetown when they face the Leone Stars and Mariga, elder brother to captain Victor Wanyama, believes that they have what it takes to return home with maximum points. "I have watched them training and I must confess that they look a very good side that can win the match.
"I want to ask them to do better...even better than our days. They have the capacity to produce good results in this Group and I want to wish them all the best."
On Wednesday, Football Kenya Federation and partners SportPesa promised a Sh3m winning bonus to Harambee Stars players in the event that they beat Sierra Leone. The announcement was made by SportPesa chief Ronald Karauri when they hosted Harambee Stars players to a luncheon at a hotel in Machakos.
The Stars will fly out to Freetown on Thursday aboard a Kenya Airways flight ahead of Saturday clash. The Stars are pooled in Group F together with Ghana, Ethiopia and the Leone Stars.
