Liverpool are aiming to kickstart their Champions League campaign when they travel to Slovenia to face Maribor in Group E on Tuesday night.

The Reds were the dominant force in their first two group games - against Sevilla and Spartak Moscow respectively - but Jurgen Klopp's men paid for their profligacy and the men from Merseyside were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in both of those ties.

Indeed, Liverpool have failed to win any of their last seven matches in this competition, while Klopp's charges are in the midst of a frustrating run of results at present, for the Reds have won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions.

Nevertheless, the English Premier League side are red hot favourites to come out on top in Slovenia, with Betsafe offering just 19/100 (1.19) that the Reds record a vital victory, while the same firm go 36/5 (8.20) that Liverpool are forced to settle for a share of the spoils for a fourth successive fixture.

Maribor picked up a point on home soil against Spartak Moscow in their opening group game, but Darko Milanic's side suffered a chastening 3-0 defeat against Sevilla in Spain last time out; the Slovenian champions have won just one match in the Champions League group stages - back in 1999 - and the odds compilers offer a chunky 16/1 (17.0) that Maribor claim a famous victory against the Reds.

Liverpool have conceded three goals from just four shots on target against them throughout this Champions League campaign so far, while the Reds have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last nine matches in this competition; Betsafe go 49/50 (1.98) that there are goals at both ends in this game, while the same firm quote 21/50 (1.42) that there are more than two goals scored.

Maribor have a good home record in European competition in recent seasons, having gone eight matches unbeaten on their own patch, while it is also worth noting that there have been fewer than three goals scored in each of those ties.

There have been fewer than three goals scored in five of Liverpool's last six matches in all competitions and Betsafe go 39/20 (2.95) that this match produces no more than two goals, while the odds compilers offer 3/4 (1.75) that either team fails to find the net during Tuesday's tussle.

Despite disappointing results in recent weeks, Liverpool should be too strong for the Slovenian champions and, if the Reds can take their chances, they could breathe fresh life into their bid to reach the last 16 of this competition in recording a crucial victory.

A tight tussle, though, seems likely and Betsafe's 39/20 (2.95) quote for fewer than three goals to be scored could see punters profit from Tuesday's crucal Champions League clash.
