Lookman ready to take his chances under Everton boss Marco Silva

Ademola Lookman has talked up his readiness to take his chances under Everton manager Marco Silva.

The youngster has only made five Premier League substitute appearances for the Toffees this season despite putting in a convincing showing while on loan at German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last term.

On Tuesday, the Anglo-Nigerian scored to help the Toffees demolish Gor Mahia at the Goodison Park as they claimed the SportPesa Trophy.

And the forward who is hoping to get more playing time has vowed to seize the opportunities that come his way.

“I always say I’m always in competition with myself to always get better and improve and that’s what I keep doing every single day,” Lookman told Echo.

“It is a long season so hopefully opportunities [to play] will arise but when it comes I’ll be ready.

“I’m always looking forward, always looking to improve and that’s what I’m going to keep on doing – to always get better as a player and as a person."

Everton make a trip to the Stamford Bridge Stadium to lock horns with Chelsea in Sunday’s Premier League game and Lookman will hope to play a part in the encounter.
