LaLiga World Tournament: Kerala Blasters announce squad for pre-season tour

Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Kerala Blasters are all set to take part in the Toyota Yaris LaLiga World Tournament that will kick-off on July 24 at the JLN Stadium in Kochi, India.

The pre-season tournament features two other teams, A-League giants Melbourne City FC and La Liga side Girona FC. The Indian side will take on Melbourne City on July 24. On July 27, Girona will take the field against the A-League club. On July 28, Blasters play their final match against the Spanish side.

Kerala Blasters had finished sixth in the 2017-18 ISL season and were eliminated from the round of 16 in the inaugural Super Cup. They have made several changes in the squad this season, bringing in fresh players. Their biggest signing of the season has been India international defender Anas Edathodika who will be pairing up with his national team's defensive partner Sandesh Jhingan. They have also signed former India U-17 goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem.

Melbourne City FC had finished third in the A-League last season and had qualified for the final series where they were eliminated from semi-finals. Girona had finished 10th in La Liga season.

Ahead of this grand pre-season tournament, Kerala Blasters have announced their 31-man squad.

New Indian signings like Naveen Kumar, Dheeraj Singh, Anas Edathodika, Halicharan Narzary, Semilen Doungel and Jithin MS have all been included in the squad. The team is currently going through pre-season training at the Transtadia, Ahmedabad. 

Melbourne City have already announced their squad and are expected to arrive in Kochi this week. Girona will arrive in Kochi on July 25.
