Zesco United trio of Jesse Were David Owino and Anthony Akumu

Kenyan international star injured in Zambia

Jesse Were’s ambition of lifting Zambian Super League Golden Boot suffered a major blow after picking an injury in his side's win against Kabwe Warriors.

The on-form Kenyan striker, who notched one goal and an assist during Zesco United's 4-1 win against City of Lusaka last weekend, was stretched off in mid second half after sustaining a knock.

Goal could however, not establish the extent of the injury with Zesco United yet to give any update on the same. Zesco United cruised past Kabwe Warriors 1-0 on Wednesday but it the victors had to pay the prize of losing one of their most valuable asset this campaign.
