Harambee Stars will go for an early goal against Zanzibar in Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup final on Sunday.
Stars will entertain Zanzibar at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos and coach, Paul Put has laid out a plan to extinguish the bright flames of the inform Zanzibar Heroes.
“I hope we score early in the game but if we don’t, then we’ll have to be patient and play the same way we did against Burundi,” Put said after his last training session.
Kenya needed extra time to sail past a gritty Burundi in the first semi-final. Zanzibar knocked out defending champions, Uganda in the other semi-final.
“We must be patient in this game because Zanzibar have really improved." Put warned.
Put for the umpteenth time called for Kenyan fans to rally behind the team by showing up for the final.
“I want the public to stand behind the team. They (players) need the confidence from fans.”
There will be free buses to ferry fans to and from Machakos.
Harambee Stars have been promised Sh6 million if they lift the trophy they last won in 2013.
