Kenny Pallraj only came in as a replacement for injured players but is looking to seize the chance to claim a more permanent spot in the NT.

Tan Cheng Hoe in his second official training camp since taking over the Malaysia national team head coach role, is still in the process of identifying players that will spearhead Harimau Malaya's challenge in the year-end AFF Suzuki Cup.

Dropouts to the initial call-up list meant chances were open up to other players and one of them who benefited from it was Perak's Kenny Pallraj, who gets his first senior international call-up.

The 25-year-old midfielder has had a productive season with The Bos Gaurus and has gotten plenty of minutes on the pitch as Perak emerged as the closest title challenger to Johor Darul Ta'zim.

"This is a dream come true. Who doesn't want to get the chance to play for their country? Whatever circumstance that got me here is not important. Now that I'm here, I want to proved to the coach that I deserve to be here," Kenny told Goal.

"This is the first and a very big step for me. I know that it's still a long way to go but since I'm here, I really want to make a big impression and hopefully be able to make the cup for the Suzuki Cup."

At times this season, Perak's Mehmet Durakovic has used Kenny in several positions, including time spent in the wider roles in midfield.

It is all part of the education process for the lanky player who had previously spent time with various Malaysia age-group teams including the Young Tigers side under Ong Kim Swee that played in the A-League.

"I may not be able to do things like what a conventional winger can when played out on the wings but what the coach gets from me is 100% commitment.

"We at Perak are a big family on and off the pitch. That's why we are doing better than we have in past seasons and also why some of us have been rewarded with this latest call-up," added Kenny.

Tan have yet to decide on his line-up for the international friendly against Fiji on Thursday but Kenny looks unlikely to be given a starting berth.

There are still a few more training sessions to go before the former Kedah head coach makes up his mind and Kenny will be hoping that he has done enough to get his first official senior cap.
