Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has expressed his delight after Amakhosi bagged their third consecutive Premier Soccer League (PSL) victory in a clash against AmaZulu on Saturday evening at the FNB Stadium.
The Italian-born mentor has praised his side for their teamwork and the unity which they displayed on the night.
“I am very happy about the performance and I think my players deserved to win this game. They played a beautiful game. So I am happy for me, for the fans and the club,” Solinas told SuperSport TV.
Amakhosi netted through Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Siyabonga Ngezana and have conceded just once in thier last three PSL matches so far, leaving the coach to hail their defensive improvements.
“Defensively, the job is much better now. All the players are involved in the defensive job and we need to support each other and it is very important to play together,” he added.
Moreover, the Amakhosi boss has welcomed the short break before facing the Lions of the North away at Makhulong Stadium on Tuesday, October 03, but he has said they will work hard in preparing for the clash.
“In the PSL every game is difficult, no easy game. So now we’ll have two days off and we’ll restart the preparation for the next game,” he continued.
“We have a lot of players in the squad, we have a lot of good players. So the competition to play is very important. Every player can play, this is good because Kaizer Chiefs is a big club,” he responded.
“We don’t only need 11 players but we also need good players on the bench,” he concluded.
In the wake of their third PSL win this term, Chiefs now occupy fourth spot with 13 points from eight matches.
