Indian Super League (ISL) outfit NorthEast United FC have signed attacking midfielder Girik Khosla and left-back Provat Lakra ahead of the upcoming season, Goal can confirm. The Highlanders have also secured the signings of Pawan Kumar (defender) and Pawan Kumar (goalkeeper).
Girik Khosla was a part of the I-League winning Minerva Punjab side last season.
The 23-year-old made 12 appearances for the Warriors and contributed a goal. He will now make the step up to the ISL with NorthEast United FC, who finished bottom of the pile last season.
Provat Lakra had an impressive spell with Gokulam Kerala FC in the I-League last season and has now opted to move to NorthEast United.
He was on loan at Gokulam from Kolkata-based club Pathachakra. However, a sturdy season from the 20-year-old has seen the Highlanders swoop to sign him.
NorthEast United have also signed defender Pawan Kumar, who was turning out for FC Pune City last season, apart from his namesake who was the second-choice goalkeeper for the ISL-winning Chennaiyin FC team.
NorthEast United are yet to reach the semifinals of the ISL in its 4-year-history and will be hoping the new signings can provide them a boost in this regard, come next season.
