Mumbai City vs Jamshedpur ISL 2018/19ISL

ISL 2018-19: Jamshedpur FC's Cesar Ferrando 'okay' with a point against Kerala Blasters

Jamshedpur FC are unbeaten in the fifth edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) but they haven't won a single game since their opener when they beat Mumbai 0-2.

Head coach Cesar Ferrando was frustrated but satisfied with one point against Kerala Blasters on Monday. "We made three mistakes. The penalty was a mistake. I think we played well in the first half and had a bad second half. We lost the ball and the team suffered. We couldn't score in the second half. One point is ok for me."

The Spaniard was full of support for his players and mentioned that the substitutions were tactical and not due to individual mistakes.

"Balmuchu wasn't the culprit for penalty. The mistake was before (he tackled). The through ball shouldn't have been allowed. I never criticise any player behind their back. Whatever I say I tell the players directly."

A lapse in concentration cost Jamshedpur two points and Cesar pointed out the mistakes that gave Kerala the opportunity to level.

"Two mistakes for the second goal.  Should have blocked the move in the midfield itself. That was the first mistake. The second mistake was that there was no one to cover when Len (Doungel) made the move from the flank."

All said, the Spaniard is happy with a point against a very good side and is hopeful of a draw or a win against a formidable Goa in their next match.

"Kerala are a strong team. We wanted to win today. Next game is against Goa. They are a big team too. I like to win but if it's a draw it's a draw. I am happy with it. "
