Avram Grant saw his NorthEast United FC outfit succumb to 1-0 defeat against Jamshedpur FC in an Indian Super League (ISL) clash on Saturday.

Grant’s men had dominated the majority of the play on the night but were sucker-punched by a sensational goal from Wellington Priori in the 51st minute.

“It was a strange game. We were doing well. We defended well, it was a fantastic goal. We created chances. The Jamshedpur goalkeeper (Subrata Paul) was good. Again it happened to us that after playing well we lost. We played well but lost the game,” Grant rued at the post-match press conference.

Steve Coppell’s men have the best defence in the ISL so far and Grant was pleased with the fact that his side had still managed to carve out some decent openings.

“They have a very good organised defence. We created three good chances but their goalkeeper was superb. They are a hard team to break but we still managed to create three to four chances,” the former Chelsea coach proclaimed.

The 63-year-old was satisfied by the performance of his men but lamented the fact that they squandered some great opportunities to put the ball into the net.

“I am happy with the performance of my side. They fought well but in football, you need to score goals. We are dominating but unfortunately can't score. It is very, very frustrating for us,” he stated.

“We have to put the ball into the net at the end of the day to get results. Last week also we created chances but didn't score. Same here today. Jamshedpur are an organized side. We are creating but unfortunately cannot score,” the NorthEast United head coach added before signing off.
