U17 World Cup Exclusive: PSG U17 coach Laurent Huard - 'I said yes straight away when the chance to play India came'

As revealed by Goal last week, India U17 national team will be travelling to Europe for an exposure tour under the guidance of coach Luis Norton de Matos, which will include matches against high profile teams including Portugal U17 and Paris St. Germain U17. 

The games against the youth team of a top European club like Paris St. Germain will definitely hols the Indian colts in good stead ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup to be held in India in October this year. 

Speaking exclusively to Goal, PSG U17 coach Laurent Huard also shared the same view and stated that the India U17 side will play at the adjacent ground to where the senior PSG team trains.

"This is very good for them (India) to come in Europe to prepare the World Cup. They will come into our training ground, just near the professionnal one to play that game," he expressed. 

The former Stade Rennes midfielder also revealed that he had jumped at the chance to play India's youth team and mentioned that he will be using the opportunity to evaluate his charges as well.

"I said yes straight away when the organizer offer me to play India. We will discover that team (India) and a new way of playing football," he elaborated. "As it's at the end of the season, we'll put some very young players on the pitch to prepare them for next year when they will progress to our U17 team.

"This will be very interesting for me to see the gap there is (in my players) year after year before being a professionnal at PSG." 

"For the Indian players, there will be a lot of souvenirs to come in Paris," he wished before concluding.
