‘I will be back fitter and stronger in the new year', says crocked Henry Onyekuru

Henry Onyekuru picked an injury in Anderlecht’s 1-0 win over Eupen in Saturday’s First Division A clash at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.

Francis Amuzu scored the solitary goal to help the Purple and White secure their 11th league win this season.

The Everton loanee who made his 28th appearance for Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s side was replaced by Ivan Obradovic in the 78th minute after he got injured.

And the forward has taken to the social media to allay any fear as he is optimistic about bouncing back ‘fitter and stronger', soon.

“What a great year it has been for me, thank you to everyone that has supported me, especially the Almighty God,” Onyekuru tweeted.

“I hope to return back to fitness soon and will be back fitter and stronger in the new year.”

The 20-year-old has scored nine goals this season to help Anderlecht to the third spot in the log after gathering 37 points from 20 games.

Anderlecht will be without the attacker when they slug it out with Gent on Boxing Day.
