Under the Portuguese tactician, Aizawl obtained 17 points from 13 matches and are sixth on the table. The Mizoram-based club are also without a win in their last seven games, which increased pressure on the head coach.

It is understood that the decision to relieve the coach of his duties was communicated to him during the late hours of Monday.

Goal tried to contact the club but officials were not available for a response.
