I-League 2017/18: AIFF reveals 25-member squad for Indian Arrows

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has revealed the 25-member squad that will play for Indian Arrows in the ongoing edition of the I-League. 

The team, which will be coached by Portuguese tactician Luis Norton de Matos, comprises of promising youngsters from the FIFA U17 World Cup team and the India U19 team. The team had recently participated in the AFC U19 Championship qualifiers in Saudi Arabia where they lost two games and won one.

Most of the stars from the India U17 team have been incorporated into the squad, with the ultimate aim being to afford them regular playing time at senior level. The likes of Jeakson Singh, who scored in the U17 World Cup, Dheeraj Singh, Boris Singh and Anwar Ali all feature in the team. 

The Indian FA's developmental side kickstart their I-League campaign on Wednesday when they host Chennai City FC at the Bambolim stadium in Goa. 

The Arrows team will be based out of Goa and Delhi, with their first two games being played in the Western Indian state. 

The 25-member squad stays as follows:
 
GOALKEEPERS: Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem, Sunny Dhaliwal, Prabhsukhan Singh Gill.
 
DEFENDERS: Deepak Tangri, Ashish Rai, Boris Singh Thangjam, Sanjeev Stalin, Anwar Ali, Jitendra Singh, Naorem Roshan Singh, Sumit Rathi, Narender.
 
MIDFIELDERS: Abhishek Halder, Suresh Singh Wangjam, Amarjit Singh Kiyam, Rahul KP, Khumanthem Ninthoinganba Meetei, Nongdamba Naorem, Jeakson Singh Thounaojam, Namgyal Bhutia, Lalengmawia, Abhijit Sarkar.
 
FORWARDS: Edmund Lalrindika, Aniket Anil Jadhav, Rahim Ali.
