Kenya’s Harambee Stars will play against Malawi in a friendly match tentatively set for April.
Football Kenya Federation official Barry Otieno has revealed to Goal that the date for the friendly will be confirmed in due course. “Kenya will host Malawi in April (outside Fifa calendar) with only local-based players taking part in an effort to adequately prepare for upcoming Chan 2018 tournament.”
It will be the country’s third friendly this year after drawing against Uganda and recording an historic 2-1 win against DR Congo in March at the same venue. FKF President Nick Mwendwa congratulated Kenya for the good show over The Leopards appreciating the fact that they beat a highly ranked side.
Congrats to the boys, the coach, the fans and machakos county. 88th VS 38th was a battle ! Up we go and continue to build. Thank you. — Nick Mwendwa (@Nmwendwa) March 26, 2017
