Gor Mahia have made it clear that they have not released Ivorian striker Ephraim Guikan.

The pint-sized striker, who scored over 13 goals for the Kenyan champions last season, was rumored to be on his way out after asking for a release letter. The player also took to his social media account to castigate one of the club officials for ruining his career at the club.

K’Ogalo CEO Omondi Aduda has now come out to confirm that Guikan still has a running contract that will end in 2019 and is at the club to stay.

“Who said that Guikan had left Gor Mahia? Guikan is still at Gor Mahia. He has a running contract until 2019 and unless a team comes for his services and we agree terms, he remains part of our plans,” Aduda told Goal.com.

Gor Mahia have already done a number of transfer activities this window with Kenneth Muguna making a return, Shafik Batambuze signing from Singinda United and Nicholas Kipkirui from Zoo Kericho.

K’Ogalo have also managed to renew the contract of keeper Boniface Oluoch as they get ready to feature in the Caf Champions League where they have been drawn against Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi.

Gor Mahia will host the Malawian league leaders on 27/28 November before the return leg a week later at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
