Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has rubbished media reports that the club is missing the services of striker Meddie Kagere.

The Ugandan born Rwandese ditched the sixteen-time Kenyan Premier League champions for Tanzania's outfit Simba SC where he is earning almost Sh500, 000 every month. Kerr now says reports linking him with the former Gor Mahia player are misguided and of bad taste.

“Kagere is not a Gor Mahia player anymore, he is not part of us as a matter of fact is the past and I usually do not talk about the past. My focus is on the players, who play for the team and I cannot waste my energy on the player, who has left.

“I messaged him (Kagere) and thanked him for our time together and wished him all the best. Gor Mahia is a team, not an individual and that means that every member has a vital role to play in order to make it succeed,” Kerr told Goal on Tuesday.

Kagere was on target as Simba edged out APR of Rwanda 2-1 in a Cecafa Kagame Cup on Monday. Gor Mahia strated the tournament with a 2-2 draw against Rayon Sports of Rwanda and will face LLB Academy in their second Group match on Tuesday.
